In my life, I've had just 3 meals I could qualify as being perfect. That 3rd perfect meal was New Sarum Diner's Famous Chicken, served Family-Style – with your choice of all-you-can-eat sides (stuffing, fries, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies). Every piece of this epic feast is cooked, and flavoured, to perfection. The white meat, stuffing, and gravy, in particular, stand out as examples of culinary excellence. Every single bite succeeded in exceeding my expectations; every single morsel an example of what a traditional chicken dinner *should* be. The meal's magnificence was easily matched by our server, Tara's, effervescent presence and profoundly-professional service. This was the first quest to New Sarum diner of now many to come!
It was great to go with friends. Recommended by one of them, and I will be making sure to go again. The staff was friendly, helpful and very good at their jobs. The food was excellent except for the liver and onions ( ew). Others reported that it was also great. They were very helpful to us as we were having a bit of a reunion. We looked around at the back room which is used for catered events, the main dining room and the old style diner with the milk shake makers. All my thumbs up, look forward to going again soon.
After a day of shopping in Sparta. We were directed to New Sarum Dinner. I was on the way home so we stopped by. What a place! Everything is homemade. It’s a super friendly quaint, homey warm. You go for dinner. There are no T V’s which is an excellent thing. There is history all over the walls. The food is made with love. I had beer battered fish and chips, and the pork cutlet with mashed potatoes and gravy. It’s as if Mom was there making dinner. There is something for everyone!
New Sarum Diner is a family favorite. Whether we eat in the diner or the restaurant, the service and food are excellent. The food tastes like homemade. This time we had the lasagna and fish & chips. The staff are the best.
Do you live historical stuff? This building has lots to look at! Plus, the food is generous portions, always tasty with affordable prices. The menu offers something for everyone. The tables are spaced far apart so you don't feel you are listening in on others conversations.
We enjoyed great service and a delicious lunch in the front section diner. I quite enjoyed the retro look of this diner with a wall of retired milkshake blenders amongst other mementos of days past. The parking lot was full by the time we left.
This was our 1st visit to New Sarum Diner and it certainly won't be our last when in St. Thomas. We were seated within 5 minutes of arriving, which was appreciated as I cannot stand for much longer- which my son who went ahead of me had told the host. Most of the dining room is fully accessible, with plenty of room for me to get through with my wide rollator. Our server Tara was friendly, professional and very attentive. The menu is quite extensive and all items reasonably price. Portions were very generous, even the men could not finish their meals. I had the Liver & Onions with mashed potatoes, gravy and a side of coleslaw which was cooked to perfection. My son and his friend had the chicken which came with several choices off unlimited sides. My son and friend said the chicken was the 'best chicken ever'. The atmosphere is cozy, reflecting the history of the building.
Want great food, happy service and beautiful atmosphere this is the place to be. Had dessert and that was amazing to. Thank you everyone at New Sarum Diner for making our visit amazing every time we come.
